Position Overview We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fleet and Garage Manager to lead our fleet operations and garage team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, operational efficiency is maximised, and that compliance and safety protocols are consistently met. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a passion for process optimisation, and the ability to support the company's logistical needs seamlessly. Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of vehicle specification, service, and maintenance in line with commercial, safety, and operational objectives.
- Manage both internal and external resources to ensure the fleet's reliable and cost-effective performance.
- Drive vehicle availability and operational improvements, ensuring high customer service standards and profitability.
- Oversee financial and operational performance, supporting asset and staff management to ensure optimal garage operations.
- Utilise fleet management systems to track and monitor compliance, job card accuracy, and issue resolution.
- Ensure adequate staffing, training for mechanics, and onboarding of third-party contractors.
- Implement a spare parts management system, maintaining necessary stock levels.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and enforce high standards of safety and housekeeping in the workshop.
- Monitor KPIs, budgetary goals, and vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and legal compliance.
- Relevant technical qualification is essential.
- Proven management experience in fleet and/or garage operations.
- Strong understanding of workshop procedures, CVRT, Loler, and related inspection regimes.
- In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety legislation within fleet management.
- Experience managing in a labour-intensive, multi-shift environment.
