Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits is the third largest producer of VQA wines in Niagara, Ontario, Canada and is looking to add Retail Associates to join our team. Based in Lincoln, ON and reporting to the Retail Manager at Creekside Estate Winery , the Retail Associate is responsible for consistent and outstanding hospitality for all visitors by providing a memorable and informative tasting experience. The Retail Associate is additionally responsible for the generation of retail sales transactions, visitor experience, merchandising & tastings. Embracing the “Visitors First” standards is essential. Duties and responsibilities Retail Sales Sell wine – this includes Wine Club memberships and retail related merchandise; employ personal style to meet daily sales targets Understand and operate cash register/POS Conduct formal tastings and winery tours with energy and enthusiasm Perform store open and closing procedures accurate cash handling, daily cash reconciliation, banking as required Visitor Experience Unfailingly greet visitors to the winery with a sincere and welcoming attitude. Understands the basics of wine and winemaking - strives to have in-depth product knowledge of Creekside wines and store merchandise. Tend to the cleanliness and orderliness of the store, washrooms, merchandise areas, and exterior areas Merchandising Rotation of stock (both wine and giftware); stocking deliveries Monitor store inventory, ensuring that the movement of all stock is being properly tracked and that the store is at optimum stock levels at all times; report replenishing needs to supervisor/manager Count monthly inventory as scheduled Qualifications Minimum 1 - 2 years of retail customer service experience High regard for personal presentation Must be fluent in both written / spoken English Dependable, punctual Clear communicator, confident and motivated Excellent people and relationship building skills Team player with positive attitude Able to professionally represent Creekside Estate Winery & Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits on- and off-site with a friendly, outgoing personality Able to maintain control and composure in difficult situations and cope with hectic conditions Continuously learn and adapt to change Exhibits a desire for high standards Hours and local travel Occasional off site functions and tastings Seasonal work includes holidays, evenings, weekends Physical requirements Majority of time spent standing at the tasting bar, cash counter or otherwise on the "floor" Ability to lift 35+ pounds (equivalent of 1 case of wine) Stand for long periods of time Substantial time spent moving and stocking merchandise, and general housekeeping Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits Inc.is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes all interested parties.
