About the Opportunity The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is seeking a dedicated Work Health & Safety Manager , on a 2-year fixed-term contract based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, WA. Reporting to the Executive Manager of People and Culture, you will lead the transformation and embed a strong safety culture within our organisation. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining the safety frameworks that support a thriving workplace. Your key responsibilities include:
- Developing and embedding a comprehensive safety culture with clear metrics for success.
- Leading the review and completion of key actions from the 2024 LGIS audit within agreed timeframes.
- Creating and delivering the 2025–2026 WHS Plan to advance safety initiatives, including psychosocial safety measures.
- Designing, embedding, and maintaining standard operating procedures, tools, and training for consistent WHS compliance.
- Coaching and upskilling managers and coordinators to enhance workplace health and safety competencies.
- Preparing detailed risk and audit reports for senior leadership and introducing enhanced WHS reporting tools.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure safety frameworks align with legislative and organisational goals.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in dedicated work health and safety roles, particularly in multi-employer environments.
- 3 years of management or leadership experience.
- Strong background in developing and embedding WHS procedures, tools, and guidelines.
- Successful history of delivering projects accurately and on time.
- Experience in fostering and embedding a safety culture within organisations.
