As the Assistant Accountant, you are primarily responsible for Trust accounting tasks and providing support to the Finance Department. Working with the Team, you are to support the effective and safe operation of the Finance Department and foster interdepartmental cooperation to enhance operations, assist in Trust accounting, maintaining resort internal control systems, providing the team with sound detailed responses in relation to Trust accounting, complying with all company financial policies, procedure and reporting requirements while maintaining the strict confidentiality of sensitive information. - Perform daily receipting and bank reconciliations.
- Post weekly revenues.
- Process weekly disbursements to principals and/or external suppliers.
- Post weekly cleaning recoveries.
- Manage apartment supplies stock account.
- Perform regular checks on Trust debtors & Trust creditors.
- Prepare ad hoc tax invoices, when required.
- General Ledger maintenance, accruals & prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Comply with all company financial policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
- Actively participate in budget preparation and forecast preparation.
- Adhere to all internal and head office reporting requirements on a timely basis.
- An understanding of double entry accounting.
- Previous accounting experience.
- Strong analytical and investigative ability.
- Ability to adhere strictly to reporting deadlines.
