To be responsible for integrating the hospital's strategic plan with operations to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the hospital, including management of the profit and loss statement for the hospital’s business, as well as the related resources associated with the hospital operation to deliver the best healthcare services to the patients and achieve financial sustainability. Responsibilities:

  • Execute an operational plan for the hospital to provide outstanding healthcare services to patients and increase patient numbers in OPD/IPD.
  • Ensure smooth operational working of the hospital and provide necessary guidelines to the hospital team for efficient functioning of operations.
  • Prepare proposals with estimates for new projects of construction, renovation, general repair, and maintenance as defined in the hospital's five-year plan.
  • Participate in the strategic and operational planning process under the leadership of CEO Teaching Hospitals.
  • Ensure availability of competent human resources based on workload and healthcare standards within approved budgets and supervise staff training and development for outstanding performance.
  • Execute CEO Teaching Hospitals initiatives for transforming hospital culture to encourage positivity, support, knowledge sharing, responsibility, flexibility for change, and empowerment to deliver excellent patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with communities, educational institutes, and NGOs for healthcare awareness campaigns, arranging medical camps, and attracting patients to the hospital.
  • Provide leadership support to the Manager Operations for ensuring the best facility management, ambulance services, transport, hostels, and cafeteria for optimal healthcare and support services for patients and staff.
  • Ensure execution of preventive maintenance plans for biomedical equipment to guarantee smooth functioning.
  • Manage supply chain with a proper planning process for medical and non-medical items to ensure smooth functioning of hospital departments for patient care.
  • Participate in the budget planning process for the hospital and facilitate the CEO Teaching Hospitals in arranging approval of the operating budget for the financial year.
  • Ensure that hospital financials are managed within budget guidelines and comply with financial policies and laws.
  • Achieve revenue and profitability targets of the hospitals through high-quality healthcare services and closely monitor progress weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
  • Deliver cost-effective healthcare services through process improvement, effective purchasing, and optimal resource utilization within budget parameters.
  • Implement technology integration in hospital operations (Clinical/Non-Clinical) via HIMS/SAP.
  • Deliver the best medical and nursing care to patients and plan rounds of OPD, wards, OT, pharmacy, and lab for consistent monitoring and improvement of healthcare services.
  • Execute marketing strategies to promote the hospital's best healthcare services, focusing on social media to achieve revenue targets and consistent growth of panels and cash patients as defined in RHS's five-year plan.
  • Ensure ISO 9001:2015 Quality standards are implemented in true spirit and periodic audits are successful with the highest scores and no deviations.
  • Establish operational plans for best quality healthcare services to ensure outstanding patient experiences in outpatient and inpatient services through quality medical and nursing care.
  • Administer quality documentation, manage quality audits, and implement audit points in coordination with the Directorate TQM.
  • Execute quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs in line with guidelines of PMDC/CPSP.
  • Implement Continuous Medical Education Programs with mandatory training hours for medical and nursing staff and measure their impact on patient care.
  • Implement Riphah Mission and Islamic Ethical Values in true spirit by developing and monitoring mechanisms where these values reflect in every course of action and behavior.
