Hilton Bahrain City Centre Hotel & Residences Road 4650 Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Hwy, Jidhafs Manama A Director of Marketing plays an essential role in developing and implementing the annual PR and marketing plan, driving key objectives, current initiatives and leading relevant activities relating to the hotel. The role will be responsible for directing the hotel’s PR and marketing team, driving results and ensuring the department performs an integral role in bringing together all function areas to ensure commercial targets are heightened. What will I be doing? As Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:- Lead and direct the marketing and PR function on hotel level, create and implement all departmental strategies within budget guidelines and ROI targets.
- Oversee execution of all B2B and B2C marketing and PR strategies, whether local, regional or global, across all available channels, ensuring brand adherence and effectiveness.
- Responsible for measuring the success of all marketing and PR activities, and producing performance reports for all key stakeholders.
- Head up and champion all media relations activities throughout the hotel ensuring all media and press kits are up to date, media visits are executed perfectly and press releases, features, events, newsletters, brochures are delivered and accomplished to an outstanding level.
- Be in charge and lead all internal communications initiatives and strategies to include developing stories, filming, responding to requests quickly, sharing information with key stakeholders and ensuring all written work is 100% accurate and reflects the hotel in a professional manner.
- Ensure full support is given from marketing and PR towards all hotel departments and print collateral requirements are met within budget guidelines.
- Be the brand champion ensuring all collateral conforms to agreed brand standards and content is compliant of corporate guidelines and within budget guidelines across all marketing activities.
- Direct individual brand initiatives and ensure hotel brand campaigns are rolled out effectively and communicated using the right tone of voice for each segment.
- Monitor, identify and execute opportunities for growth of the Hilton loyalty program Hilton Honors and booker incentive programs by adhering to on-property guidelines.
- Lead the team in conducting continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends, continuously evaluate and drive commercial success whilst identifying key PR opportunities.
- Identify and drive a sound social media strategy for the hotel and support departmental initiatives.
- Continue to develop, grow and identify opportunities for key partnerships whilst driving revenue in all hotel disciplines.
- Ensure hotel maximises all media, customer, marketing and PR activity locally whilst ensuring participation in global partnerships initiatives.
- Handle all appropriate use of marketing and PR content, creative resources, translation and photography while optimising an effective online presence in line with regional strategy.
- College Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Hotel Management.
- Experience of working in a similar senior marketing and PR position in the hospitality industry for a number of years.
- Experience of directing, managing and motivating a winning team along with evidence of driving successful team results.
- An advanced knowledge of creating, leading and managing projects and campaigns recognising priorities and working to budget restraints and tight deadlines.
- Complete understanding of key functions relating to PR and marketing strategies and initiatives whilst managing multiple work streams.
- Considerable experience in developing and implementing effective and realistic PR and marketing plans and strategies, including budget evaluation, extensive communication written work, management and reporting.
- Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with various levels of management.
- Outstanding communication skills in all areas of writing, listening and speaking English.
- Developed proficiency of native language dependent on location of role.
- Communicates key information effectively to all levels of management using a variety of communication tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, budget management, effective presentation skills and management of staff.
- Able to think analytically, critically and strategically when faced with unique opportunities, challenges, prioritising and identifying productive solutions.
- Demonstrates a sound understanding of commercial awareness and has the ability to influence others in key situations whilst maintaining positive relationships.
- Demonstrates extensive experience of written work in a marketing and/or PR role.
- Able to establish excellent interpersonal skills amongst teams by demonstrating strong leadership and cultural sensitivity.
- Outstanding knowledge of commercial and environmental awareness whilst identifying and executing calculated risks with pre-determined successful outcomes.
- Understands the importance of a flexible approach with the ability to adapt and change priorities where necessary.
- An accomplished and proficient leader offering excellent judgement, time management and decision making skills.
