Job Description

The Chef de Partie - Bakery and Pastry is responsible for managing the bakery and pastry section of the kitchen. This role involves preparing a variety of baked goods, desserts, and pastries, ensuring high-quality standards in presentation and taste. The Chef de Partie will also assist in menu development, supervise junior staff, and maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to food safety regulations. Strong creativity, attention to detail, and teamwork skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

  1. Education: Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution, specializing in pastry and baking.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, specifically in pastry and bakery roles. Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar supervisory role is preferred.
  3. Skills: Proficiency in various baking techniques, pastry preparation, and dessert presentation. Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  4. Creativity: Ability to develop innovative recipes and dessert presentations.
  5. Personal Attributes: Strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team. Passion for pastry and baking, with a commitment to continuous learning.
  6. Certifications: Food Handler’s Certification or equivalent may be required, depending on local regulations.
