Operations Manager

The role of the OPERATIONS MANAGER will report into the COO and be responsible for the operations for 3 facilities with complex production lines. Key responsibilities:Ensure Operational Efficiency throughMeeting production targetsDeveloping and implementing production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.Uphold strict Safety and Compliance throughEnforcing safety protocols and promoting a culture of safety among all employees.Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies related to environmental, health, and safety standards.Ensuring SSOPs are maintained and enforced.Manage Operational Costs effectively throughBudget tracking and adherenceMonitoring operational expenses and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.Analysing financial data and prepare budgets to support operational planning and decision-making.Develop and lead a high-performing operations team through Monitoring and reporting on time and attendance of the production team.Plan for absenteeism cover and ensure there are sufficient team members to run all required production lines each dayLead and motivate the production team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and knowledge and cross train where needed. Experience and qualifications:Engineering qualification or similar8 years experience in a similar role (of which 4 years should have been in a supervisory/ mentoring capacity)Experience running multiple production linesExperience generating management reports (using excel, word, powerpoint etc) This role will suit a manufacturing or engineering operational manager who enjoys managing and leading through a hands-on approach. Someone who is comfortable working in a warehouse environment and can influence and inspire staff to achieve operational efficiencies at all levels.This role is based in Pinetown, KZN.
