Do you have an Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics background with experience in high-speed low-noise electronics? If so, we invite you to join our Engineering department as a Senior High Speed Low Noise Design Engineer.In this rewarding position, you will lead the design, development, performance evaluation, and improvement of the communication interface to our advanced superconducting quantum processors. The primary goal of this work is to develop and implement D-Wave's next generation high bandwidth communications electronics incorporating high speed digital design utilizing FPGAs and low noise high speed analog circuit designs.What you'll do:Design and implementation of next generation quantum processor control and readout system electronicsContinuous improvement of the current electronics systemsWork closely with the multi-disciplinary teams in Engineering and Processor Development and act as a key interface between the teamsClearly document and communicate the work and progress to the internal development teamsWhat you'll bring:Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Experimental Physics, or equivalent in relevant education and experienceExtensive experience in high-speed digital design incorporating FPGAsMulti-year experience in low-noise, high frequency analog and mixed signal electronics and PCB designExcellent understanding of engineering and physics with strong multi-disciplinary technical skillsExcellent critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skillsExcellent hands-on ability and troubleshooting skills, including circuit debugging with vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers and related toolsExperience with high-speed serial interfaces such as DDR, PCIe and EthernetStrong organizational and decision-making skillsProficiency in scripting languages such as Python and programming languages such as C/C++Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment that is focused on priorities and end resultsSelf-motivated, proactive, flexible and passionate about learningExcellent verbal and written communication skillsBonus Qualifications:Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Experimental PhysicsFamiliarity with Xilinx's tools and with OrCad schematic and PCB layout toolsExperience in microwave circuit design including filtering, switching, multiplexing, and transmission linesExperience with microwave frequency designExperience with superconducting circuitsExperience with cryogenic engineering and systemsStrong software engineering skills related to experimental design, data acquisition, and analysisKnowledge of relevant E&M modelling tools (SPICE, Ansys HFSS or similar)Registered as a EIT or Professional Engineer in British ColumbiaINCLUSION:We celebrate diverse perspectives to drive innovation in our pursuit.
