Must qualify to be classified as a Consultant by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. Diagnostic Radiologist who may have expertise or interest in neuroradiology or head and neck radiology. Department Information Summary The Diagnostic Imaging Department provides multiple diagnostic imaging examinations and related services for all hospital patients. Scope Diagnostic imaging services are provided to accommodate pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients received from the outpatient and inpatient units. Prompt diagnostic reports are provided to physicians, who can view images on the “magic web” from computers in patient care areas. Extensive digital archives of diagnostic images are maintained for patient care, research, and teaching. Film duplications are provided for patients upon transfer to other health care facilities after completion of care at KKESH. Continued education is provided to physicians and hospital staff on diagnostic imaging practices and diagnosis, radiation protection and safety, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) safety. The department adheres to the standards of the International Commission on Radiological Protection, the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP (USA)), and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Physician and Technical Staff: 1 consultant radiologist (chair)  1 consultant radiologist (member)  1 department head  1 chairman radiologist  1 MRI/CT supervisor  1 MRI technologist  1 MRI trainee  1 CT technologist  1 chief digital ultrasonographer  3 digital ultrasonographers  2 ultrasound trainees  1 ultrasonographer/radiographer  2 digital radiographers Services/Functions: The services/functions of the Diagnostic Imaging Department are as follows: Routine radiographic examination; Magnetic resonance imaging: head only; Computerized tomography; Ultrasound: diagnostic and intraocular lens calculations; Color Doppler imaging; Confocal microscopy; Ocular coherence tomography; Scanning laser ophthalmoscopy.
