Job Title: Sonographer/Radiographer (General) Location: Dublin Job type: Permanent, full-time, 35 hour week. Under the leadership of exceptional Radiology Managers, dedicated to innovation, excellence, and a supportive work environment, this is an outstanding opportunity for professional growth The successful candidate: You will work in a busy multidisciplinary department with MRI, CT, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, DEXA and General Radiography. About Our Client: This Diagnostic Imaging department is a dynamic, multidisciplinary team offering services in MRI, CT, Cardiac Catheterization, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, DEXA, and General Radiography. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated and enthusiastic team committed to delivering high-quality patient care. The post holder will: Qualified CORU registered Sonographer who will be expected to work autonomously. Will have a very strong background in Ultrasound, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing compassionate care to patients. Will provide an efficient and professional ultrasound service, maintaining a high standard of patient care. Will assess and report on own Ultrasound workload. Responsibilities will include: Perform all required Radiographic imaging procedures within the Diagnostic Imaging Department, including General Radiography, DEXA, Theatre, Interventional/Fluoroscopy Radiology, and ideally, General Ultrasound. Deliver high-quality, evidence-based clinical imaging and maintain professional accountability for all aspects of personal work, upholding the highest standards of patient care. Ensure a responsive and efficient radiographic service within the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Adapt to varied shift patterns and departmental needs and participate in the departments rotating radiographic schedule. Join the on-call rotation as required. Administer intravenous cannulation when necessary. Manage documentation as per hospital policy, including maintaining patient records, quality assurance logs, and training records, while respecting data protection and confidentiality. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to address patient-focused concerns and enhance service quality. Maintain open and effective communication with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues to support a professional and high-quality imaging service. Coordinate with other departments, GPs, consultants, secretaries, and colleagues to facilitate effective patient care and management Demonstrate imaging technologies and explain procedures to visitors and students as needed. Familiarise with hospital accreditation standards, maintaining adherence, and contributing to implementing JCI AOP Radiology Standards Contribute to Departmental Quality Improvement Initiatives and assist in implementing and adhering to relevant HIQA and EPA guidelines. Eligibility Criteria: BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent MSc/Post Graduate Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound (desirable) Hold CORU registration Minimum 3 years Post Graduate experience in General Ultrasound, Upper Abdominal, Pelvic, TV, Small Parts, Vascular Ultrasound (Carotid and Leg Venous) is desirable. Knowledge and understanding of healthcare environment Experience of managing and delivering a complex service Knowledge and experience of using IT systems effectively e.g. Outlook, RIS, PACS, iPIMS, A compassionate and patient-focused individual with excellent communication skills.
