KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES:Duties following a induction and orientation period:Act independently, with support of a Senior Physiotherapist, to assess, analyze and provide a clinical assessment for individual patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention.Act independently, with support of a Senior Physiotherapist to plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care to maximize rehabilitation potential across a range of orthopedic conditions.Advance treatment progression of patients with the support of a Senior Physiotherapist as needed.Independently manage a caseload of patients effectively and efficiently, with the support of a Senior Physiotherapist as needed.Contribute to evidence-based practice in the department at a basic level (ex. Participate in protocol reviews).Participate in physiotherapy and team in-service training to promote personal development.Proactively organize patient discharges, with support from the Senior Physiotherapist, utilizing appropriate and evidence-based outcome measures.Maintain a proficient standard of ethical and professional behavior when treating and dealing with patients.Participate in the departmental personal development and performance review system.Participate in case review meetings with their Senior Physiotherapists as part of regular caseload management.Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and delivery of care.Participate, when requested, in clinical audit to support the physiotherapy service clinical governance strategy.Maintain accurate and timely patient records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and meet professional standards.Independent patient record keeping using an electronic medical record (Cerner).Assume any other responsibilities as directed by your direct supervisor.Attend and successfully complete competencies which focus on patient safety initiatives implemented within Aspetar Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital. Patient Safety Training is an annual requirement, to include all organizational leaders, staff, service, and contracted providers.Necessary knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job:5-7 years of outpatient orthopedic experience.Skills and Abilities:Ability to examine and treat specific orthopedic conditions to a proficient level.Ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions.Meticulous and pays attention to detail.Open to new assessment and treatment procedures.Ability to establish good working relationships and work within a team.Ability to work well under pressure.Sports physiotherapy background advantageous.Arabic language speaker advantageous.Education and Certification requirements:Master's degree in physiotherapy desired.Bachelor's degree in physiotherapy or equivalent required.Registered with home country Physiotherapy Association.Evidence of recent Continued Professional Development in orthopaedic physiotherapy.Job specific technical Skills:Evidence of ability to manage orthopedic caseloads.Personal insight and reflection skills and is aware of own strengths and weaknesses.Orthopedic physiotherapy assessment and treatment skills and knowledge.Team Worker.Good Communicator.Computer skills (competent basic computer navigation, MS Word and MS Excel required).English Language (proficient written and speaking skills).
