Purchasing Specialist Cork Our client a National Business, in Cork is looking for a Purchasing Specialist to join their growing team. In this role, you will oversee all commercial aspects within your portfolio and play a pivotal role in business strategy. Responsibilities: Assist the head of department in the development and execution of the Procurement Strategy, aligning with the overall Category Strategy. Track market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities, inform procurement decisions, and mitigate risks. Manage the product assortment within your portfolio to ensure a competitive and innovative product range. Oversee internal procurement processes, including sales history analysis, demand forecasting, purchase requisitions, stock purchase orders, and stock transfers. Manage supply chain factors such as capacity, lead times, and delivery schedules to ensure materials are received on time and in full. Optimize inventory levels to avoid stockouts and minimize excess stock. Lead negotiations on terms, conditions, pricing, RFQs, RFPs, bid evaluations, and delivery charges to ensure optimal cost efficiencies. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors degree in business or related field. A minimum of 3 years experience in developing product offerings and growing sales within wholesale or retail industries. Proven procurement experience, with a track record of maintaining strong supplier relationships. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret commercial decisions.
