Machinery Operators Required

We are looking for a Machinery Operator for our busy horticulture business. This is a full-time permanent position and will consist of operating and maintaining orchard machinery. To be considered for this position you’ll have some previous driving experience in the agriculture or horticulture industry, have experience in the operation and maintenance of machinery such as tractors or the willingness to learn this skill, have a current driver’s license or the ability to obtain one. You should have excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and be able to work independently to reach goals. You must be able to multitask and will be able to complete work in set time frames. You will be also expected to perform tasks such as operating and maintaining our orchard machinery including tractors, completing repair work and assisting in the procurement of new machinery, completing paperwork as required and ensuring the highest quality of work possible. You will be solely responsible for operating and maintaining orchard machinery. Key Attributes: •The desire to grow your knowledge and skills in the horticulture/agriculture machinery industry. •A strong focus and keen eye for detail. •The ability and willingness to adapt, be flexible and learn quickly •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills •The ability to work independently and without supervision • Some previous driving experience in the agriculture or horticulture industry, a current driver’s license or the ability to obtain one and knowledge or experience in the operation and maintenance of agriculture/horticulture machinery or a willingness to learn. •Ability to use a computer and basic programs like Microsoft word and excel is also beneficial. This is a full time and permanent position offering at least 30 hours per week. We are offering a minimum payrate of $29.66 and a maximum of $35 for this position. Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
