ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Generate cost estimate for the manufacturing and installation of custom signs and architectural products by analyzing blueprints, drawings, specifications, bid requests, proposals and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for products, projects or services by performing the following duties:
Calculate and generate costs by analyzing labour, material and time requirements.
Review bid request and project drawings to determine material and labor requirements, clarify information with Sales, Project Manager, and Designer if required; confirm bid request matches submitted drawings.
Analyze the content of tender specifications and drawings and use the information identified to build a costs schedule suitable for use as a formal tender bid.
Present prepared estimate to relevant management and or direct to clients.
Consult with clients, suppliers, colleagues in other departments or installation teams to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Must have a desire to contribute to the overall success of the company by working cooperatively with all departments.
Maintain technical knowledge by reviewing technical publications.
Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies.
Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual cost.
SIGNAGE ESTIMATOR
Must be a bachelor's degree holder in Engineering - Industrial or Mechanical preferred. Must have at least 3 years of experience in estimation of interior and exterior signs. Previous experience in the sign industry preferred. A thorough understanding of estimating production and installation methods and costs for interior and exterior signs, including built-up letters, aluminum, wayfinding, flex face and digital print.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent IT and numeracy skills. Familiar with tender specifications and drawings.
