Substation Engineer - Senior Officer

Title Substation Engineer – Deputy Manager Location Ahmedabad Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• Knowledge of electrical substation equipment
• 7+ years progressive experience in design and engineering with power distribution and/or high voltage substations.
• Experience in Renewable (Wind, Solar & Energy Storage) will be considered as an asset.
• Experience on various substation projects from 69kV up to 345kV and/or a strong understanding of electrical distribution systems. Extensive experience with electrical substation design.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IBC, IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards.

Role Requirements

• Preparation of the general arrangement and elevation view, erection key diagram, trench plan, lightning protection layout, earthing layout, illumination layout, single line diagram, three-line diagram, protection line diagram, control building layout.
• Preparation of auxiliary load calculation, AC & DC cable sizing calculation and schedule, UPS, Battery and battery charger sizing calculation, Control cable schedule, direct stroke lightning protection calculation, earthing calculation, short circuit force and cantilever strength calculation.
• Preparation of Technical Specification of substation equipment.
• Preparation of detailed BoQ which meets the requirement of client, IEC, ANSI & IEEE.
• Preparation of Scope of Work
• Grounding analysis using software.
• Perform engineering calculation and report.
• Review and approval of all substations related equipment.
• Review and quality assurance of protection and control design drawings assuring both client and IEC, ANSI, and IEEE requirements are met.
• Provide leadership, training and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members.
