Job Role / Responsibilities: Reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence you are expected to analyse, program, maintain, and expand operational reporting, business intelligence (BI), and data warehouse (DW) solutions as part of the Business Intelligence Team (BIT) under the Global Data and Analytics Office (GDAO) within ICT. You must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills whilst working independently in a global organization with minimal supervision. Specifically, you will be responsible to:
- create and maintain BI applications whilst gaining in-depth understanding of the existing applications, both the technical and business aspects
- design, develop, and support development of reporting framework(s), data warehouse, datasets, ETL packages, dashboards, and analytical reports
- participate in all phases of solution development from business requirements, analysis, design, development, and implementation phases
- develop and grow understanding and application of Data Modelling and Data Analysis Techniques
- work on data management, integration and reporting tools in use including but not limited to SSIS, SSMS, SSRS, IBM Cognos, and Power BI; and be proficient in the same over time
- liaison with Business users/Sections/Departments/others to gather and validate requirements for delivery of the results
- operate within practices and procedures for smooth functioning of all operational services as per quality standards
- continue to add/evolve best practices and processes for solution development
- develop and document test plans and user manuals
- participate in or support work stream planning process
- possess a formal and recognized degree in Computer Science or related disciplines, such as Bachelor and/or Masters in Computer Science, MBA in MIS, etc. Professional Certification in a relevant field will be an added advantage
- 0 to 2 years of professional experience in working with BI/Data warehouse/Data science tools
- the ideal candidate will have expertise in Microsoft SQL Server/BI Solutions, exposure/experience with IBM Cognos Analytics, and basic knowledge of Python/R
- ability to understand the importance of clean and well-governed data and effectively leverage data and analytics to help the organization make data-driven business decisions
- ability to work with a global team to achieve a common vision across the organization and globally to support data and analytics needs
- ability to identify client needs and expectations and respond to requests efficiently and effectively while acting beyond explicit requests within established service standards
- able to meet client needs in a respectful, helpful, and responsive manner and seek feedback to develop a clear understanding of client needs and outcomes
- ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions promoting the vision of the Global Data and Analytics Office
- ability to complete tasks in accordance with plans and set priorities for tasks in order of importance
- ability to set goals and work to meet established expectations and adapt working methods to achieve objectives
- ability to listen actively and objectively and present appropriate information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing
