Trading Operations Specialist

Designation: Senior Operator – Fuel Oil/Heavy Ends Location: Mumbai Exp- 5-9 years Role:

1. Collaborate with traders to understand trades and to execute trades in an efficient and in a cost-effective way.
2. Keep a finger on the pulse of the market where you operate and alert the trader to changes that you see. Add value at the pre-trade level by gaining trust with the trader and advise on market conditions
3. Understand the markets and underlying contracts. Advise trading and operations manager with any deviations to the contract.
4. Monitor inventory levels, logistics and shipping schedules to meet loading and delivery commitments.
5. Understand Heavy Fuel Blends and blend components.
6. Issue blending instructions to vessels and terminals.
7. Have a keen eye for detail and update our ETRM systems daily. Understand the affects data you input has on exposure, hedging, and cash management (including TVM).
8. Understand basic trading hedging structures. Be able to understand the effects on moving pricing dates and advise traders in a timely fashion for opportunities around pricing dates
9. Patience and drive to ensure administrative tasks are done effectively and timely.
10. Issue instructions correctly and in a timely manner.
11. Add value to the trade by reducing costs and effectively operating cargoes to maximize profits.
12. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stake holders to enhance trading opportunities and facilitate smooth transactions.
13. Act as a mentor and initial go to person for junior operators and operators on the desk.
14. Be the go to person for the trader on all aspects of the trade.
15. Raise any issues or noncompliance with the Operations Manager or Global Head of Operations.
