Join us as we build an even cleaner B.C.JOB DESCRIPTIONDuties:The Operational Technologies Cybersecurity Domain Architect (OT-CDA) will join the Enterprise Architecture team which is part of BC Hydro Technology. The OT-CDA will deliver strategic directions and tactical decisions on key solutions and technologies for monitoring and control of physical devices, which are increasingly being used to automate the operations of electric power systems. These software and hardware based foundational technologies (Industrial Control Systems) are needed to deliver critical business services across the organization.The OT-CDA is a specialist in processes and tools which overlap between information and operational technologies and guides delivery of pragmatic, cohesive and efficiently designed solutions. The OT-CDA is particularly familiar and able to provide guidance on the cyber security aspects of Industrial Control Systems and integration with IT systems. OT-CDA partners up with key business and technology stakeholders to produce OT security strategies, roadmaps, plans, reference architectures, solution blueprints & designs to help guide technology investments and deliver quality, secure solutions.This role also leads and mentors solution architects, SMEs and delivery teams assigned to various initiatives to ensure efficient execution of business imperatives and alignment to technology standards.What you'll doDeliver architecture visions, roadmaps, reference architectures, standards, patterns and guidelines for OT cybersecurity in support of OT & IT planning, delivery and operations.Act independently as program or project architect for high risk and complex initiatives, ensuring that architecture elements are standardized and consistent.Participate in OT projects providing cybersecurity advice and direction.Identify risks and opportunities to maximize the return on OT cyber security and related investments through optimized architectures and prudent technology selection.Liaise with the stakeholders across different functional areas to gather, evaluate and level set solution requirements and constraints.Assess and provide recommendations on solution options pertaining to physical devices, firmware, software, communications network, cyber security and back office IT&OT systems.Collaborate with planning/project/operations teams to reconcile solutions to the business challenge.Provide leadership and mentoring to internal resources and partners.Work collaboratively with a team of fellow professionals delivering results within a tight timeline.Exercise professionalism in ensuring effective teamwork and fostering productive relationships.Track developments and changes in the OT threat landscape, as well as technology standards and best practices, and ensure adequately addressed in cybersecurity strategy, plans and architecture artifacts.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.Solid understanding of operational technologies, cybersecurity frameworks, processes and systems utilized in electric utilities and demonstrable experience in delivering architecture and designs as an enterprise or solution architect.Experience in integrating security controls within OT architecture designs.In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, architectures and designs; as well as enterprise architecture methods, standards, and approaches. Proven ability in applying this knowledge to:Analyze and describe an organization's enterprise architecture.Solution design and use case development considering OT priorities and constraints.Validate OT architectures for security best practices, and provide recommendations to enhance security and reduce risks as applicable.Mature OT cybersecurity overall in an electric utility.In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity platforms and tools including CISCO cybersecurity suite, Microsoft solutions for identity management and cybersecurity, Splunk, Privileged Access Management platforms, OT asset monitoring tools such as Dragos, Nozomi, Industrial Defender etc.In-depth knowledge of operational and information technologies and systems in at least two of the following: Physical devices, IoT sensors, firmware and software typically used in electric utilities for industrial control and data acquisition. These include but not limited to PLC, RTU, DCS, SCADA and MES devices.Networking, telecommunications, and cyber security technologies, including non-IP protocols, LAN, WAN, WIFI, Microwaves, PBX, LTE, SIP, LDAP, Firewalls, IdAM, IDS/IPS, NAC, SIEM, tools for OT asset discovery, monitoring, vulnerability and patch management.Solutions and platforms for grid management including but not limited to EMS, ADMS, OMS, DERMS, SCADA, AMI, GIS and EAM.Cybersecurity architecture of Cloud-based (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) OT solutions and/or solutions operating in a Hybrid Cloud environment.Solid understanding of emerging technology themes like OT-IT Convergence, Smart Grid, IIoT, Artificial Intelligence, Edge Computing and Advanced Analytics.Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of applicable compliance and cyber security standards including NERC reliability standards (e.g. CIP, O&P) and NIST.Professional cyber security certifications e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA.Business acumen combined with knowledge of industry standards and frameworks for delivering IT-OT architectures and/or service management.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to keep the big picture in perspective.Experience explaining complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.Ability to cross the divide between Engineering and IT and to communicate effectively with both groups.Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience with facilitations and negotiations.Acumen to assess if a proposed solution will achieve desired business outcomes, and provide recommendations/direction for alternate options where applicable.Ability to identify, resolve and close issues to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.Ability to consistently meet required deadlines.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONWhat we offer:A minimum of 15 paid vacation days.Flexible work model, depending on your role type.Training and development courses.For more information on the benefits we offer, visit bchydro.com/benefits.What else you should know:* Applicants who do not meet the full qualifications or those with lesser work experience may be considered for a lower level position.On the BC Hydro Careers site, click on the Apply button in order to complete the steps to apply for this job.
