Job Title:Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Type:Permanent

Minimum Education:Bachelors in Computer Science or related field along with Database Certifications

Minimum Requirements:

8+ years of experience in Financial sector with at least 5 years as a DBA of Core Systems

Hands on experience of multiple database platforms like DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Servers, etc.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Delivery of relevant technical solutions based on best practice / experience / similar projects

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management and Daily Operations:

Oversee all aspects of database server administration, including routine maintenance tasks

Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for peak efficiency

Ensure strict change control procedures to ensure data integrity during modifications

Schedule automated tasks, backup jobs, and recovery processes for seamless operations

Set up alerts to proactively address any potential issues with database storage or performance

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:

Diagnose and resolve technical problems that arise within operational databases

Perform root-cause analysis to identify underlying issues and prevent future occurrences

Technical Expertise and Automation:

Install and configure database software, keeping systems up-to-date

Develop scripts and automation programs to streamline system management tasks

Collaborate with developers on designing, evaluating, and testing new database applications across various platforms (MS SQL, DB2, Oracle, etc.)

Integration and Resource Management:

Leverage available resources to conduct thorough testing, ensuring smooth integration of new databases into existing systems

Analyze existing database workflows and processes, proposing improvements enabling efficiency

Recommend system enhancements to maximize application performance

Platform-Specific Tasks:

Schedule jobs using cron/scheduler on AIX/Linux and Windows servers for automated processes

Data Security and Availability:

Implement regular database backups and verify data integrity to ensure recoverability

Maintain disaster recovery processes for T24 DB2 and SQL Server databases

Manage and restore database environments for development and testing purposes
