DescriptionPosition at Al Jazeera Media NetworkJob Summary:The Senior Broadcast IT Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the AJMN's Broadcast Systems both in Doha and globally. They work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team and resolve Broadcast IT system failures, security attacks, system outages, etc. Their activities include remote support, configuration, and maintenance of servers. The Senior Broadcast IT Engineer ensures that core systems are stable. They configure AJMN's Broadcast IT systems for enhanced security and optimal performance. The Senior Broadcast IT Engineer is also responsible for monitoring activities such as server usage and temperatures. They will install Broadcast systems equipment, such as servers, applications, KVMs, rack installations, and running cabling. Additionally, the Senior Broadcast IT Engineer works on-call and during different shifts.Key Responsibilities:Monitor and maintain AJMN's Broadcast Systems stability and performance at Doha and global locations, resolving any service impacts and ensuring key performance indicators and service level agreements are met.Identify and resolve faults, incidents, problems, service requests, and change requests from the AJMN Service Desk in a professional manner to agreed service levels.React to security incidents by performing necessary operations as determined by the Incident Response team.Document problems with detailed diagnoses that are accurate and compliant with existing processes.Other Responsibilities:Act as a point of escalation for Broadcast IT engineers on critical and complex systems issues.Provision new servers and systems, including server configuration and setup of Broadcast IT applications.Maintain accurate Broadcast systems information for provisioned servers and systems.Coordinate with other Technology teams.Support multiple Technology teams across Al Jazeera locally in Doha and globally.Proactively detect Broadcast systems issues and ensure systems quality.Actively transfer information between shifts.Mentor new and current Broadcast IT Engineers.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or exceptional prior experience.Broadcast Engineer certification by Society of Broadcast Engineers preferred.6+ years in the Broadcast and Technology domain.
