Health and Safety Manager

Health & Safety Manager Reporting to: Head of Operations Location: Fermoy Role Overview: The Health & Safety Manager ensures top-level health and safety standards at the Fermoy site, driving continuous improvement and best practices. They stay updated on relevant legislation, offering guidance to site management, and lead the development and implementation of all H&S policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Promote H&S compliance and continuous improvement across the site. Conduct risk assessments and create action plans to minimize risks. Oversee H&S onboarding for employees, contractors, and visitors. Train and support the team in managing H&S in their areas. Maintain and review policies to align with business needs and legislation. Enhance safety awareness and collaboration across the company. Ensure H&S controls are part of equipment design and upgrades. Regularly inspect the site and audit safety practices, making improvements. Collaborate with regulatory bodies and investigate incidents promptly. Desired Competencies: Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, training, and leadership abilities. Committed to fostering a safety-first culture with a proactive attitude. Adaptable to change and challenges in a dynamic industry. Qualifications & Experience: BSc (Hons) in Occupational H&S or equivalent (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma). Minimum 5 years in H&S, with 3+ years in manufacturing, preferably in heavy industry. Knowledge of BS OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9000. Strong report writing, numerical, and MS Office skills.
