Extended Term Appointment in Industrial Engineering
تفاصيل الوظيفة
Position description
The Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Aerospace Engineering invites applications for a three-year Extended Term Appointment (ETA) faculty position in the area of Industrial Engineering. ETA faculty members will be assigned core undergraduate Industrial Engineering (IE) courses and may also be assigned graduate courses. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching core undergraduate IE topics such as:
Quality control
Probability and statistics for engineers
Discrete-event simulation
Logistic network models
Facilities planning and warehouse operations
Stochastic models in industrial engineering
Human factors engineering
Computer-integrated manufacturing
The incumbent is expected to eventually take a strong lead in the core IE undergraduate courses, including the course content, delivery, and evaluation. The main responsibility of an ETA is course delivery; however, they may be asked to supervise students' project work and contribute to Department and program administration, including the implementation of CEAB Graduate Attributes.
Faculty members holding ETA positions at Concordia are full-time faculty members whose primary duties include teaching and service, with no research obligations. The appointment affords the possibility of promotion and permanent status.
Qualifications and assets
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering or a similar discipline. Membership in a Canadian professional engineering association, preferably in Quebec, is required. Industrial experience will be a definite asset.
Candidates are encouraged to share any career interruptions or personal circumstances that may have had an impact on their career goals in their letter of application. These will be carefully considered in the assessment process. The Department values diversity among its faculty and strongly encourages applications from those who will contribute to that profile.
Concordia University is an English-language institution of higher learning at which the primary language of instruction and research is English. Since this position supports academic functions of the university, proficiency in English is required. Working knowledge of French, including reading and grading student work in French, is an asset.
