Job DescriptionDescriptionMain Purpose of the Job:Looking for all painting works inside & outside buildings. Prepares, primes, sands, seals, and patches and paints furniture, surfaces, buildings, and fixtures utilizing all types of painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, water-proofing and heat resistant finishes.Main Competencies required for the Position:• Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade.• Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.• Knowledge of text and display requirements for signage applications.• Skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.Main Duties / Responsibilities:Tapes, flushes, repairs and applies texturing, wallpaper, and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces. Adjusts colors when necessary; utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriate.Applies materials to new construction, existing, multi-story buildings, alterations, and remodeling.Graffiti response and removal using a variety of available products and soda blasting.Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc. Safely stores and labels all materials.Estimates time and materials required; keeps records and submits reports of work performed.Reads and understands drawings.Offers assistance and advice on materials, designs, and color.Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction.May refinish chairs, bookcases, desks and furniture.Occasionally hangs wallpaper.Minimum qualifications / educational levels required for this position:None specified.
