Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)A well-established, proudly South African prominent FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) manufacturer specialising in houseware and hardware is currently recruiting a COO to drive strategic leadership in Manufacturing, Distribution, Logistics, Procurement, Quality, and Security divisions in order to optimize operational efficiency, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and foster sustained profitability in pursuit of operational excellence and business success.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement operational strategies to support business and departmental planning.Manage day-to-day operations - (Overall Equipment Efficiency) OEE and buffer levels, data analysis for smart equipment use, assessments, operational risks, asset care management and equipment replacements.Financial management - budgets, variance and expense reporting, funding proposals, and cost-saving initiatives.Quality and Compliance - ISO 9001, internal and external audits, scrap and rework, and returns and customer complaints.Safety and environment management - risk management and improvement strategies.Staff management - manpower and performance management.Stakeholder relationship management - sustainable development, community service initiatives, competitors, and core business partners.Desired Experience & QualificationBachelor's degree in business administration or operations management.Minimum of 8-10 years in operations management experience, specifically within FMCG plastics manufacturing/production.Must have 2-3 years senior management experience.Knowledge of production processes, supply chain management, quality control, distribution, and regulatory compliance.Package & RemunerationThe compensation package is negotiable and will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, skills, and relevant working experience.
