LocationIntroductionThe Aga Khan University was founded in 1983 as Pakistan's first private university, AKU is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Starting in 2000, the University expanded to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Afghanistan, and the United Kingdom.
The Department of Emergency have been awarded the National Institutes of Health's D43 Grant. The goal of this grant program "AKU Trauma injury research training Program (AKU-TIRTP)" is to strengthen trauma and injury research capacity across the different countries and build a strong cross-regional model of collaboration. The programme will train several PhD researchers and a large number of trainees through a series of workshops and online courses, and it will support contextually relevant research in care of the injured with a focus on emergencies, disasters and conflict.
This is a grant-funded contractual position.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:
engage in designing and developing research projects related to Emergency, trauma, and injury
engage in designing and developing grant proposals and processing relevant grant applications
engage in writing manuscripts and academic papers with DEM faculty members and research team
assist in administrative research works and oversee the data related to research project
foster research partnerships both within and beyond the institute.
RequirementsYou should have:
a Bachelor's degree. However, a Master's degree will be preferred.
at least one year of relevant work experience
strong English writing skills and the ability to effectively engage in writing grant proposals and research manuscripts.
ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
basic understanding of interpreting data tables.
good communication and interpersonal skills.
