Mechanical Engineering Team Lead

As our Mechanical Engineering Lead reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will be leading a dedicated group of engineers focused on the company's core technologies, driving towards product launch. First and foremost you need to be technically sound, and proficient at providing guidance as you oversee a small team of engineers. You need to be comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment, able to adapt to changes in scope due to evolving requirements. You must be capable of task management for your team and be comfortable responding to new challenges quickly and confidently.Desired Skills and Experience:Bachelor's in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent degree is requiredA minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience, ideally with medical devicesLeadership experience or a desire to lead a group of engineers is preferredWhole system design experience in Solidworks or similar CAD platformExperience generating and reviewing mechanical drawings, strong Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing knowledgeExperience working with sensors, optical systems, linear motion systems, liquid dispensing and pumping systemsRapid prototyping experience (3D printing, laser cutting, RP machining, etc.)Strong communication skills including presentation and writing reports with a demonstrated capability to work effectively with others in a fast-paced environmentSystem level design simplification, part reduction and cost reduction experienceExperience designing injection molded, sheet metal and machined partsExperience in transitioning mechanical designs to manufacturing (new product introduction experience an asset) including assisting with jig/figure developmentWilling to investigate new project directions/areas and emerging technologiesFamiliarity with ISO-13485 and working for a medical device company, especially a medical startup, would be an asset
