Description

BDO Ireland's Audit department is growing, and we have an open vacancy for a Director . This position will work alongside the department's Directors and Partners. You will become a part of the decision-making process within the department. We're seeking a dynamic Director eager for a fresh challenge within our innovative and forward-looking Banking Team within our Audit Department. Key Responsibilities & Relationships

Responsibilities
  1. Proactively manage client expectations and be the point-of-contact for clients, working closely with Senior Executive levels in managing the audit specific requirements.
  2. Manage a portfolio of clients of variable sizes across different industries.
  3. Manage international reporting processes both to Group Auditors and from Component Auditors.
  4. Coordinate and project manage the allocation of staff resources to jobs.
  5. Lead teams on the planning, execution, and completion of audits.
  6. Provide technical auditing and accounting assistance to team members and clients.
  7. Report directly to partner/director on engagements.
  8. Assist with managing the team's financial performance e.g. agreeing and billing of fees; cash collections; monitoring recoverability of WIP etc.
  9. Be involved in the design and delivery of technical training.
  10. Participate in the coaching, mentoring, and appraisal of staff.
  11. Manage and coordinate the pitch/proposals for new work.
Relationships
  1. Develop strong working relationships with the managers and other members of the team.
  2. Actively collaborate with peers in other teams/departments.
  3. Be the main point of contact for a range of clients.
  4. Develop a good understanding of the firm's core values and how they apply to our objectives/strategies, particularly how they impact our department.
  5. Share knowledge and experience with others, including on-the-job training of more junior team members.
  6. Assist with the preparation of clients' presentations, including preparation of board reports and tender/proposal documents.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  1. ACA or ACCA qualification with a minimum of 6 years PQE.
  2. Strong technical auditing and accounting skills, including knowledge of ISAs and IFRS.
  3. Banking experience is preferred.
  4. Experience working on large, complex group audits is advantageous.
  5. Proven management skills and behaviors.
  6. Strong market/commercial awareness.
  7. Understanding of the operational aspects of managing an audit team and being accountable for results.
