Job Title: Chief Operating Officer
Job Summary: The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the University's executive team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the institution. The COO will provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure the effective management of university resources, including finance, human resources, IT, and facilities. Key Responsibilities:- Provide advice and recommendations to the President on strategic matters
- Supervise staff administrative activities and ensure effective management of university resources
- Oversee the Finance, Human Resources, IT, and Facilities and Purchasing departments
- Facilitate administrative processes and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures
- Develop and implement academic strategic planning in collaboration with the President and other senior leaders
- Manage all finances and collections, including budgeting and financial reporting
- Manage the buildings and grounds, including repair, construction, and remodeling
- Manage all purchases, including instructional materials, furniture, supplies, and technology software
- Manage all staff salaries and benefits, including visas, housing, and government personnel regulations
- Oversee personnel operations, including recruitment, contracting, termination, training, development, and induction programs
- Submit an annual report on university administrative and financial operations to the President
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President
- Hold a PhD recognized by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain
- Have appropriate academic and administrative experience
- Be of good conduct and behavior, and not have been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude or dishonesty unless legally rehabilitated
- Be fit in terms of health
- Have not committed any act that would harm the reputation of the Kingdom of Bahrain or harm its interests at home or abroad
- Should not hold a post in any political association or be involved in any activity of a political nature
- High administrative, guiding, and systematic decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to create and maintain effective work relationships with staff
- Ability to adapt to changes
