English Language Partner

Meet online or in person with their Language Partner for informal conversation classes.Encourage and support learners.Share general information about living in Winnipeg.Provide information about Canadian life, culture, and customs.Skills Required:Long-time Canadian or established Immigrant.Fluent in English with a minimum CLB of 8 or equivalent.Adult EAL/ESL teaching experience or certification (e.g. Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language, CTESL) is an asset.Other teaching or tutoring experience is an asset.Ability to work with individuals from diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong time management and organization skills.Patience.For online classes - experience using Zoom.Time Commitment:1.5 hours per week.Minimum three-month commitment required.One meeting per week minimum.Shifts available on weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays.Online classes take place via Zoom.In-person classes take place at the Immigrant Centre or off-site at a public location (e.g. library or coffee shop).
