Kitchen Cook

Main tasks • You are responsible to control the food cost, ensure optimum utilization of all items that are used, minimize the wastages• You handle and prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations• Keep the Kitchen and all the appliances clean and tidy always• Keep the Freezer and storage space clean and tidy• Ensure proper storage of food items• Keep track of the stock of food items and their expiry dates• Ensure that you and your team always use gloves and hat: maintain hair short• Find the resources- new products, new recipes, etc• Provide better presentation of the item served in plate• Standardize every recipe that is served• Make sure to cover the food items that are cooked and also the food items under process• Carryout instructions given by the Kitchen Chef• Always care Customer Service First: Ensure that visitors and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights• Ensure the implementation of safety and security standards• Able to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively within high stress situations• Responsible to control overall operating costs without jeopardizing the service level to the customer and food industry standards like ISO22000 General retailing experience• Minimum 3 years experience as a Cooking Specialist in a leading restaurant • Must have a diploma in culinary arts• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal servicesCommunication skills• Must be able to communicate in English & Arabic• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Must be able to share knowledge and learning• Must be able to train others • Must have ability and sense of active learningLeadership skills• Must have the ability to control and supervise others• Able to motivate, develop and direct people as they work and able to identify the best people for required jobMust have the ability to create an environment where the IKEA values are a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and visitors
