The Innovation Center & Events Manager role provides an exciting opportunity to oversee a cutting-edge innovation hub that showcases groundbreaking technology in the construction industry. In addition to managing the exhibition center, you will play a key role in planning and executing large-scale events that bring together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders. The candidate will be responsible for curating and maintaining the innovation hub's exhibitions and orchestrating impactful events that foster knowledge exchange and networking. The role will require a high level of interpersonal skills, diplomacy and a culturally appropriate attitude that perfectly embodies the NEOM mindset of diversity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the planning and execution of all events within the organization.
  • Work closely with the PMO to ensure all events are aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring all events are delivered within budget.
  • Lead the event planning process, including venue selection, vendor management, and event logistics.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications teams to promote events and ensure maximum attendance.
  • Develop and implement event evaluation strategies to measure the success and impact of events.
  • Manage and mentor a team of event coordinators and assistants.
  • Ensure all events comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including vendors and partners.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement within the events management function.
  • Manage day-to-day operations and develop strategic action plans to ensure that the center is maximized.
  • Manage all center and events related logistics.
  • Manage the center's meeting and training facilities.
  • Oversee fabrication and installation of exhibits in-house and contracted out and ensure exhibit opening deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with outside experts to create a sensory experience for visitors and exhibitors.
  • Work closely with the appointed maintenance and service contractors to ensure best practices for aesthetics and cleanliness, taking immediate remedial actions, where needed.
  • Manage branding and communication for the center and support with the marketing and communications of events/exhibitions.
  • Communicate well with staff on timelines, exhibit openings and resources for exhibits and applicable staff.
  • Develop all center processes and procedures, manuals etc.
  • Own and update the center share point page and marketing collateral.
  • Oversee safety of staff and guests on or around the exhibition.
  • Conceptualize, develop and implement event plans and activations alongside the communications team.
  • Work directly with exhibitors and potential partners for the planning and execution of their assets ensuring that Brand Resonance for NEOM and the center ethos are achieved.
  • Work with the wider team on the managing and execution of conferences.
  • Negotiate quotes and agreements with vendors and oversee budgeting and invoicing.
  • Negotiate sponsorship deals.
  • Develop event feedback surveys.
  • Obtain relevant permits.
  • Handle post-event reports.
  • Liaise with hotels to coordinate event logistics (client rooming list, meeting/exhibit space).
  • Develop cost estimates, provide input to RFPs, evaluate and award bids.
  • Develop a conference and exhibit manual for internal use.
  • Act as primary contact for client inquiries and concerns, effectively managing exhibitor and visitor feedback.
  • Ensure that all the legal, health, government and other regulations are followed.
  • Develop process improvements based on emerging trends to enhance event planning.
  • Oversee AV requirements and catering needs.
  • Develop and distribute meeting materials to attendees before meeting start.

Knowledge, Skills And Qualifications

  • A minimum of 12 years’ experience running events and developing events related strategies.
  • A minimum of 8 years operations management experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years working across an international remit.
  • Proven experience of writing and implementing relevant policies and procedures.
  • Proven experience of developing relationships with high profile partners/sponsors.
  • Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management.
  • Project Management.
  • Strong communicator with solid events and event marketing experience supported by solid project management skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, superb interpersonal skills, multi-tasking skills, and excellent time-management.
  • Ability to reinforce client-to-business relations, improve the organization's image, and effectively deliver on event objectives.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with the ability to write comprehensive proposals in US English.
