Advisor Human Resources at Crown Law Office, Wellington - Wairarapa

Crown Law provides legal advice and representation to the Government in matters that affect everyone in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our mahi ranges from the enforcement of criminal law and protection of the revenue, to matters involving human rights and te Tiriti o Waitangi/the Treaty of Waitangi. Our counsel appear at all levels of court in Aotearoa, from the Supreme Court through to the District Court and various tribunals. More information about our mahi can be found on our website: Crown Law values diversity, inclusion, work-life balance, and flexibility, and we pride ourselves on creating learning opportunities for our team to grow. We strive to put te Tiriti and te ao Māori at the heart of everything we do so having knowledge and understanding of te reo Māori and tikanga Māori is recognised and valued within our organisation. Mō te Tūranga - About the role At Crown Law we work as a team. We use what we know while being open to learning from others and ourselves. We're looking for someone with two to three years experience in the HR Advisory space to come and help us ensure our managers are fully supported and a seamless HR service is provided to Crown Law. We're a small organisation with a big work programme, so are looking for someone who is delivery focused while building effective and constructive relationships across the team and wider organisation. You will have the chance to get involved, and lead pieces of work, but you won't be on your own with the HR team there to provide support and assistance at all times. Due to our fantastic HR Advisor going on secondment, we are looking for someone who can come in until the end of February 2025, we are open to a secondment or a fixed-term. We think this is a great opportunity for someone who wants to show what they can do in a new organisation before making their step up into a more senior position. Ideally, you will bring:
  • at least two to three years experience in human resources, preferably with experience in a generalist background
  • experience working in partnership with others to deliver good outcomes
  • knowledge of current HR principles and best practice across the employment life cycle
  • a positive attitude and a commitment to our values.
In return we'll offer:
  • flexible working environment
  • active career development through mentoring and training.
  • an organisation that is underpinned by strong values that 'how' we do our work is as important as 'what' we do.
This is an exciting role, working in a great team, in an organisation with a clear vision that makes a real difference for New Zealanders. This role is Wellington based and located next to the Wellington bus and train station. We are a flexible organisation and team, so we'd be happy to chat about what flexible working would look like for you and how we can support that. The appointing salary range for this role is $81,064-$105,887 based on skills and experience. All applications should include a cover letter and curriculum vitae. To be considered for a position at Crown Law you must have a legal right to live and work in New Zealand and are required to complete a Ministry of Justice Criminal Records check. Access requirements and/or whānau support will be taken into account when arranging interviews. If you have any additional questions about this role or would like to kōrero prior to applying, or if you have a disability that affects the submission of your application through the online process, please email HR@crownlaw.govt.nz. Applications close at 5pm on Sunday, 15 September 2024. #J-18808-Ljbffr
