£65,000 - £110,000PA tax free + generous housing allowance
Our client is a prestigious, global player in the international Insurance market. The company's interests and expertise cover challenging, high hazard sectors including oil and gas, shipping, power, construction, energy, refining/petrochemicals, and mass-transport. The immediate focus is on recruiting an additional experienced engineer with a successful offshore operational/production profile into its UAE energy risk group. The job holder will undertake physical/condition/integrity surveys, review operational and maintenance practices and procedures, assess client insurance specifications and requirements, investigate claims and losses, perform desktop risk assessments, and produce clear, lucid reports for underwriters, clients, and advisors. A substantial pedigree in process safety acquired with a major operating company is essential.

Offshore Operational Technical Support/Trouble Shooting
Production Leadership
Oil and Gas Operational Process Safety
Inspection/Asset Integrity/Condition surveys
Process Engineering
Process Safety: HAZOP Leader/QRA/ALARP/DSEAR/LOPA capabilities
Fire Protection/Detection/FERA
General Attributes and Candidate Preferences:
For all the roles, the following attributes would be beneficial but are not essential:
Fluency in Arabic
Fluency in French
Core Requirements:
These involve 60-80 nights away per year within EMEA. Written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work at all levels within a client organization. Production of the underwriting report following a survey is a key skill. The ability to lead a team of insurance engineers to conduct underwriting surveys, typically between 2- and 5-day duration at client sites, is required. For key or large sites, extended surveys of 2 weeks are sometimes necessary. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
