```htmlWood has an opportunity for aSenior Electrical Engineerto join our team in Qatar on a long-term basis.Key Responsibilities:Self-starter with an ability to produce electrical deliverables with little input or guidance.Good understanding of international codes and standards along with their applications.High level of competency in electrical system design (e.g., Single Line Diagrams (SLD's), protection and control schemes).Experience in developing and issuing the following deliverables:Electrical Design BasisSpecifications and StandardsLoad SchedulesSLD'sProtection and metering schemesCalculations (Load, cable sizing, battery, equipment sizing)Familiarity with power system studies (short circuit, load flow, transient, motor starting, and harmonic studies)Relay settings, power adequacyLighting/earthing/lightning protection deliverablesElectrical layouts (equipment, cable, tray, duct, and trench)Checking of area classification layoutsData sheets for major equipmentPreparation of enquiry packages for HV and LV switchgear, transformers, drive systems, and UPS.Reviewing and checking electrical deliverables to ensure accuracy and alignment with the scope of work prior to issue.Familiarity with SKM, ETAP, or SPEL software packages.May serve as the Lead Engineer and/or discipline technical authority when required on small to medium complexity projects; responsible for cost, schedule, resource allocation, and risk.May supervise a small work group consisting of engineers and designers with coaching from the Lead Engineer, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialization to others.Assist in performing managerial tasks such as:Assigning tasks to engineersPlanning and coordinating portions of the engineering workPreparing scopes, schedules, and budgetsAttending project meetingsDeveloping lesser-experienced technical professionals.Takes responsibility for challenging electrical engineering tasks capable of delivering scope for an area on large and/or complex projects.Review Vendors' quotations, prepare technical quotation evaluations, and recommend the final technically acceptable Vendor, in conjunction with Materials Management Department commercial quotation evaluation.Technically approve Order Variation Summaries.Prepare and develop material take-off for the electrical discipline.Hold coordination meetings and engineering review meetings with Vendors of major equipment as required.Participate in project reviews, design reviews, audits, and other workshops as required.Strong understanding of plant design and equipment layout.Liaise with clients on technical matters where required.Completion of site surveys and data gathering for brownfield scope of work, taking responsibility for the development of the site survey report.Provide relevant knowledgeable practical skills in response and actions for:Site visits and site surveysSite queries and discussionsSupplier, vendor, contractor, client, and site-related discussionsSite-based activities.Demonstrate appreciation of commercial and technical risks, managing these appropriately within the scope of work and highlighting significant issues to the Lead Engineer.Qualifications:Engineering Degree majoring in Electrical Engineering.Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.Proven core Electrical Engineering skills, including design experience in the Oil & Gas sector.Experience of working in a variety of projects and phases, including greenfield and brownfield, on and offshore, Pre-FEED through to EPC, with a focus on offshore upstream.Familiarity with electrical design tools such as SPEL and Aveva Electrical.Experienced with Electrical HAZOP / SAFOP completion.Ability to impact and influence fellow workers, with experience of leading more junior engineers and designers for the completion of discipline deliverables.Demonstration of customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and corporate objectives.Display analytical and innovation skills to manage new technology.Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
