Accounts & Finance Lead/ Financial Controller

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Accounts and Finance Lead to join our dynamic team. As the Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our accounting and financial operations and ensuring compliance with financial regulations in the fast-paced fintech industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management and a proven track record of successfully leading accounting and finance teams. Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain books of accounts and prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
2. Play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of accounting and financial reporting systems and processes.
3. Ensure compliance with UK financial reporting standards and regulations.
4. Develop and manage the annual budgeting process in collaboration with senior leadership.
5. Provide regular financial forecasts and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
6. Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
7. Provide actionable insights to senior management for optimizing financial performance.
8. Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support.
9. Oversee the day-to-day activities of the accounts and finance department, including bank and partner reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
10. Prepare financial feasibilities of different products and recommend on the viability of products.
11. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including tax, auditing, and other reporting requirements.
12. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
13. Assist in the management of cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support the company's growth and expansion plans.
14. Coordinate and manage annual financial audits, working closely with external auditors.
15. Address audit findings and implement recommendations for process improvements.
16. Communicate financial performance and key insights to senior management, investors, and board members.
17. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business goals.
18. Any other tasks as may be assigned by the management.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
2. ACCA qualified / ICAP CA CAF and CFAP stage cleared.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management (post-articles), with a strong background in fintech or digital payments.
4. Proven experience managing accounting and finance teams.
5. In-depth knowledge of UK financial regulations and compliance standards.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
8. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
9. Technical literacy on digital financial services.
10. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
