Role – Fundraising & Investor Relations Lead Location - Kolkata mPokket is a rapidly growing and well-funded fintech startup in the lending domain. We offer small ticket loans, along with employability solutions, to the low income youth via our mobile app. Started in 2016, mPokket is today among the top 5 fintech lenders in India, having disbursed more than Rs.14,000 crore to 50 lakh borrowers across 19000+ pin codes in India. As we look to scale the business another 10x-20x over the next few years, we are looking for ambitious and talented individuals who will be part of this amazing journey. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as Fundraising and Investor Relations Lead. This role is pivotal in driving the company’s growth by securing funding, providing data to and managing relationships with investors, and communicating our vision and progress effectively. Job Description Responsibilities: 1. Fundraising Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the company’s growth objectives. Identify and pursue opportunities for debt financing, including private and PSU banks, wholesale NBFCs, domestic credit funds, international credit funds, multilateral finance institutions, and listed and unlisted debentures. Also, periodically pursue opportunities for equity financing with domestic and international private equity firms. 2. Investor Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential investors, including institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals, and strategic partners. Serve as the primary point of contact for investor inquiries, data and communications, including providing MIS to existing investors. 3. Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis and due diligence to assess funding needs, evaluate investment opportunities, and optimize capital structure. Prepare financial models, projections, and presentations for fundraising activities. 4. Pitch Development: Create compelling investment pitches and presentations to effectively communicate mPokket’s value proposition, market opportunity, business model, and financial performance to investors. Tailor messaging to different audiences and investor preferences. 5. Deal Negotiation: Lead negotiations with investors to secure favorable terms and agreements. Collaborate with legal and finance teams to finalize deal structures, term sheets, and contracts. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. 6. Market Research : Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics affecting the fintech and lending sectors. Identify emerging opportunities and potential risks to inform strategic decisions and fundraising efforts. 7. Stakeholder Management: Coordinate cross-functional efforts with executive leadership, finance, legal, and other teams to support fundraising initiatives and investor relations activities. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and board of directors. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. • Proven track record of success in fundraising and investor relations. Experience with fintech and financial services preferred. • Strong understanding of capital markets, investment principles, and financial analysis techniques. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively. • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and ability to execute on fundraising goals. • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with investors and stakeholders at all levels. • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and proficiency in financial modeling and valuation methods.
