We welcome all people to apply, including those from groups experiencing inequity.Work Arrangements: The Sociology Department in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is inviting applications for three sections of SOCI 1125: Introduction to Sociology starting in the Summer 2024 semester. Applicants must be available to teach on the following days, times, and campuses: Wednesdays 12:30-3:20; Thursdays 12:30-3:20; Fridays 9:30-12:20 on our New Westminster campus. Applicants will also be considered for addition to our on-call contract faculty teaching list for future semesters.The Role: The successful candidate will have experience teaching Introductory Sociology courses at the post-secondary level. A teaching and research specialization that complements existing departmental strengths is required.Responsibilities: Instruct students, facilitate learning, and evaluate student progress in University Transfer courses. Plan, organize, and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners, and maintain quality learner-centered instruction.To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need:MA or PhD in SociologyDemonstrated experience in successful post-secondary teachingAbility to work effectively as part of a team, excellent communication skills, demonstrated initiative and creativity, evidence of ongoing professional development, and a commitment to teaching excellenceApplication Instructions: Please apply online, include a cover letter, your CV, teaching evaluations, and the names and contact information of three references.
