An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Compliance Officer to join a Global Financial Institution.The Regional Senior Compliance Officer (RSCO) is responsible for GFI oversight and credible challenge within each region through approval authority over compliance-related decisions. The RSCO will also provide consultative support to GFI on policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and emerging risk trends. The RSCO will have a dual reporting into GFI Compliance and the Regional Compliance Head. Ongoing oversight and credible challenge through risk identification in regional GFI portfolio, followed by communication with GFI business and Business Risk Group (BRG) to remediate or mitigate risk through execution of the compliance program. Approval for all compliance-related decisions within assigned region, including but not limited to remediation plans, high risk relationship memos, new or expanded business opportunities (from a compliance perspective), local compliance training. Ensuring consistency in approach and governance internationally through ongoing coordination and dialogue with regional compliance and operational risk partners, as well as regional Money Laundering Reporting Officers (MLRO), cross-border governance, international oversight and country manager/business head. Responsible for establishing, maintaining and ensuring execution of a regional compliance and operational risk program for the Bank's Global Financial Institutions (GFI) Group within the assigned region to identify, assess and mitigate compliance risk related to internal processes, people, systems or external events. Provide compliance risk leadership, oversight, awareness, risk-based assessment, and credible-challenge within assigned region. Maintain an awareness of the state of compliance risk across GFI and global platforms and industry and provide subject matter expertise to the business regarding compliance and non-bank financial institutions (e.g. Sovereign Wealth F Minimum QualificationsExtensive compliance risk and/or equivalent experience working in a role such as compliance or audit. Prior management experience in the regional financial services industry, with experience in international correspondent banking.Strong knowledge of BSA/OFAC laws, regulations and Corporate BSA/OFAC policies.Demonstrated ability to evaluate risks and the impact of decisions on the overall division and organization, balanced with the ability to take action in a decisive, timely and market-appropriate manner.Proven track record with change management, strategic planning and organizational strategy.Ability to build strong partnerships across business units and create strategic alliances among diverse stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to provide innovative and creative leadership which challenges traditional assumptions, processes and systems.Ability to travel domestically and internationally.Ability to work across multiple cultures.Strong interpersonal, organization and communication and presentation skills.Preferred SkillsStrong knowledge of Global Financial Institutions businesses.Demonstrated ability to manage work across regions, as the position will have 1 direct report based in the US.CAMS certification.Demonstrated experience interacting with regulators within the TRAMS (Turkey, Russia, Africa, Middle East) regio About The Company Robert Walters Plc is one of the world's largest specialist professional recruitment consultancies with 51 offices spanning 23 countries.We've helped thousands of professionals find permanent, contract and interim roles with leading global corporations, small to medium sized companies and innovative start ups.
