Policies and programs tend to focus on the restoration and rehabilitation of child victims, with limited attention directed toward creating systematic, structural changes that address the root causes that intensify a child's vulnerability to violence, abuse, and exploitation. Thus, to ensure that children and youth are protected and able to thrive in safe and nurturing families and communities, the Neev Transform Collective (TC) aims to create a model- with the potential to replication and scale nationally and globally- to improve childcare systems in India by promoting a prevention-based approach. The model has a particular focus on enabling access to quality family-based alternative care when it is in the best interest of the child. TC seeks to place equal emphasis on strengthening families and communities, reforming the existing system of child protection, and creating a preventive and enabling ecosystem to redefine the childcare ecosystem in Maharashtra, India using a collective approach.  Job description: Job Title Research Associate Duration 1 month (extendable based on project requirements) Job Summary The Research Associate would be expected to work closely with the team at Sambodhi carrying out qualitative data collection, focus group discussions, classroom and process observations, and in-depth interviews with key stakeholders. Job Responsibilities: Selected candidates are expected to perform the following tasks:•        Participate in the implementation of the project which includes data collection - qualitative data, piloting of the tool, translation and transcription of the interviews.•        Conduct In-depth Interviews (IDIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with the study participants. •        Regularly share the project updates with the research team.•        Perform other project-related tasks as assigned from time to time.•        Candidates are expected to be ready for field travel in Maharashtra.
