About the job SR. ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEERPURPOSE OF THE JOB:The purpose of the job of an Electrical Design Engineer is to design, develop, and oversee the electrical systems and components required for various projects. This role involves creating detailed electrical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop electrical designs for buildings, facilities, and infrastructure projects using Revit software, including: Designing power distribution systems, preparing Single Line Diagram (SLD), Lighting Layouts, Small Power Layouts, Cable Routing Layouts, Fire Alarm Systems, Lightning Protection & Earthing Systems.Conduct Design Calculations: Perform electrical load calculations, power distribution studies, Circuit Breaker & Cable Sizing, Cable Tray Sizing, Battery Sizing, Panel Schedules, and voltage drop calculations.Prepare Technical Drawings: Generate electrical schematics, layouts using CAD/Revit and 3D models, ensuring compliance with local regulations such as Kahramaa, QCDD, MOI, and international codes and standards.Coordinate with other Disciplines: Collaborate with the electrical team as well as architects, structural engineers, and MEP team using the latest software such as Revit for seamless integration of electrical designs with other disciplines.Evaluate Equipment Specifications: Assess electrical equipment specifications by contacting local suppliers and provide recommendations for selection of the electrical equipment.Provide Technical Support: Offer technical support and guidance to project teams, including other engineers and draft team, on all related electrical design tasks.BOQ Technical Support: Assist QS Team in producing BOQ for Electrical Systems.Conduct Regular Quality Review: Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of the electrical models, drawings, and associated documentation.Stay Updated: Keep up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in electrical engineering design.KEY QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, UPDA Certification.Minimum 8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, especially in the design field.Experience working on commercial, residential, or industrial projects, especially STP, will be advantageous.Demonstrated strong knowledge in using Revit software for electrical design, including integration with architectural, structural, and mechanical disciplines using Revit's collaborative features.Strong understanding of electrical codes, international standards and regulations, as well as PWA / Kahramaa / QCDD / MOI requirements.Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, particularly in conveying Revit-related design requirements and solutions.Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD), strong knowledge in Revit and electrical design tools (e.g., ETAP, Dialux).Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality Design Documents.Familiarity with BIM processes and collaboration tools.VERTICAL: ENGINEERING
