Battery Systems Engineer

The Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) implementation Engineer's primary responsibility is to design, implement, and optimize energy storage solutions involving battery technologies. This role will play a crucial role in developing and integrating battery systems to enhance energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability for various applications in the Terra Firma portfolio.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.Valid Driver's LicenseOwn CarWilling to travelPREFERRED SKILLS:Technical Proficiency in Battery Systems And DesignProject ManagementInterpersonal & Teamwork SkillsAnalytical and Problem-Solving SkillsCollaboration and TeamworkAdaptabilityEXPERIENCE REQUIRED5+ years' experience in an Electrical Engineering EnvironmentReading And Producing Electrical Network DiagramsRegulatory KnowledgeTesting and Commissioning ExperienceData AnalysisTECHNICAL PREFERENCES:Homer/PVSOL/PVSYST/ HelioscopeCAD experienceCommunication systems designPerform and review power system studiesProficient in Microsoft OfficeExperience with Atess, Sungrow, Huawei and Blue Nova preferred.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand energy storage requirements and objectives.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and energy consultants.Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of battery systems with existing infrastructure.Conduct site assessments to evaluate the feasibility and suitability of implementing battery systems.Develop detailed engineering plans for battery system projects for a variety of user applications.Research and evaluate the latest suitable battery technologies and energy storage solutions.Stay updated on relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations related to energy storage systems.Ensure that battery implementations comply with safety, environmental, fire and performance standards.Collaborate with procurement teams to source and evaluate battery components and systems from reputable suppliers.Contribute to relationships with key vendors to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality components and systems.Oversee the testing and commissioning of battery systems, ensuring they meet design specifications and performance expectations.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase.Implement continuous monitoring systems to track the performance of installed battery systems.Analyse data and implement optimization strategies to maximize energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Develop training programs for end-users and maintenance personnel on the operation and maintenance of battery systems.Create comprehensive documentation, including operation manuals and troubleshooting guides.Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and solutions.az
