Careem operates in over 70cities across 10 countries from Morocco toPakistan.PositionOverview: We are seeking a highlyskilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. As a DataEngineer you will play a critical role in designing developing andmaintaining our data infrastructure ensuring the availabilityscalability and reliability of our data systems. You willcollaborate closely with crossfunctional teams including datascientists analysts and software engineers to support datadrivendecisionmaking and enable the efficient processing of largescaledata. What youlldoDesign and develop robustscalable and highperformance data pipelines and ETL processes toextract transform and load data from various sources into our datawarehouse or data lake.Collaborate withstakeholders to understand their data requirements and design andimplement appropriate data models and database schemas to supporttheir needs.Optimize data pipelines and ETLprocesses for performance and efficiency ensuring timely andaccurate data delivery to endusers.Monitortroubleshoot and resolve issues related to data quality dataconsistency and data integrity ensuring the reliability andcorrectness of our data systems.Implement andmaintain data governance practices and policies ensuring compliancewith data privacy and securityregulations.Collaborate with data scientistsand analysts to provide them with the necessary data infrastructureand tools for conducting advanced analytics and derivinginsights.Stay uptodate with the latest trendsand technologies in data engineering and recommend innovativesolutions to improve data engineering processes andsystems.Document data engineering processesdata flows and system architectures to ensure knowledge sharing andmaintain an uptodate repository of technicaldocumentation.Work closely withcrossfunctional teams including software engineers andinfrastructure teams to optimize data infrastructure and ensure itsseamless integration with othersystems.What youll needBachelorsdegree in Computer Science Engineering or a relatedfield.Proven experience as a Data Engineer orin a similar role working with largescale data processing and ETLpipelines.Strong programming skills inlanguages such as Python Java or Scala with experience in datamanipulation and processing frameworks like ApacheSpark.Experience with SQL and databasetechnologies (e.g. relational databases SQL queries datamodeling).Proficiency in working with big datatechnologies such as Hadoop Hive and knowledge of distributedsystems and cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS AzureGCP).Familiarity with data integration andworkflow management tools such as ApacheAirflowKnowledge of data warehousing conceptsand experience with data warehousing solutions is highlydesirable.Strong analytical and problemsolvingskills with the ability to analyze complex datarelated issues andpropose effective solutions.Excellentcommunication and collaboration skills with the ability to workeffectively in a crossfunctional teamenvironment.Attention to detail and a strongcommitment to delivering highquality work within establishedtimelines.Whatwell provide you We offer colleaguesthe opportunity to drive impact in the region while they learn andgrow.
