Job SummarySupport the priorities and agenda for the Corporate Investment Banking (" CIB ") in Pakistan as agreed with Country Head of Legal, Cluster Legal Head and Head Legal, CIBSupport the strategic intent and priorities of the Legal function, including close liaison and mutual support from and with other parts of the Legal function, relevant businesses and functional groups, as requiredPromote the culture and practice of organisational compliance / conduct of business with legal standards within the Bank in Pakistan.Establish and maintain frameworks to identify, assess, manage, monitor, mitigate and report legal risks across CIB in Pakistan.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy and LeadershipSupporting the CIB Business team in Pakistan with overall responsibility for ensuring appropriate legal and regulatory advice, training, risk assessment, monitoring and decisions on matters relevant to the relevant businesses.

Under the direction of Country Head of Legal, Head Legal CIB and Cluster Legal Head, provide regional legal support and ensure regulatory reform agenda for CIB is effectively managed and operationalised in Pakistan (working in conjunction with other stakeholders such as Governance team, country lawyers, Compliance, risk, COO, business, and other support functions).Network deliveryEmbed delivering the network priorities for CIB in Pakistan.

Implement global standards for legal issues management for CIB in Pakistan, deviating only when necessary under local laws, regulations or practice.Client DocumentationEnsure that client templates relevant to CIB in Pakistan are updated and fit-for-purpose under local laws and regulations, aligned to global templates/standards unless deviations are necessary under local law, regulations or practice considering product nuances.

Ensure that new legal templates for CIB in Pakistan are properly rolled-out and adopted in Pakistan, working with relevant other stakeholders having responsibility for the product or involved in the documentation processSkills And ExperienceEducational background in Law to degree level/post-graduate professional studies

Qualified Lawyer with minimum 7-8 years post qualification experience

It is preferred to have relevant experience in private practice or in-house with experience in the banking industry, .
