Construction Machinery Maintenance Manager

Strong mechanical/electrical background with constructoin equipment.

Ability to troubleshoot problems in a narrow timeframe

Prior supervisory experience

Prior budgeting experience

Define and delegate responsibility of Maintenance Supervisors (2) and 10 to 15 skilled trades.

Schedule hours for maintenance mechanics to maximum utilization of manpower, provide adequate production coverage and avoid excessive overtime.

Review downtime logs. Analyze activities associated with downtime to determine possible cause.

Review daily performance goals and adjust maintenance activities to meet or exceed standards Ensure equipment is maintained to level that will allow production numbers required by daily schedule. Utilize information supplied by production schedule to meet production requirements.

Coordinate all maintenance projects so completion complies with goals, and budgets.

Prioritize maintenance expenditures and spend budget accordingly. Anticipated or existing shortages must be with the Plant Controller.

Ensure all parts, Chemicals, and other necessary supplies ordered by Maintenance Department are adequate and available as needed.

Review and justify overtime, as required.

Fill out tardy and absentee Report for Maintenance Department.

Schedule vacations and days off too avoid manpower shortages.

Assist Mechanics in trouble shooting on equipment.

Supervise in progress of repairs and inspect quality of completed repairs.

Meet with outside sales representatives to evaluate price, availability, and services.

Meet with Production Superintendents to discuss maintenance related down time.

Schedule assistance when outside technical expertise is required to make repairs on machine.

Observe operation of Production equipment and note areas requiring repairs and modifications.

Be aware of all Plant Operations. Keep abreast of developments and advancements for machinery.

Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance (P.M.) programs.

Enforce all Safety regulations and plant rules.

Administer and ensure integrity and compliance of all maintenance systems.

Must be able to perform all duties in either the electrical or the Mechanical area.
