Job Description:

These incumbents will conduct daily visits to Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities and CCMDD pick-up points (PuPs) within the districts, to provide technical support for web system registration and prescription activities, in fulfilment of the South Africa Sustainable Response to HIV and TB (SA SURE) Project objectives for differentiated care.

Job Responsibilities:

Contribute to documenting and communicating lessons learnt, stories of change, and good practices.

Communicate system developments, updates and related changes to all users at facilities, providing guidance and a supportive interface between facilities and the web system Helpdesk.

Build the confidence of end-users through orientation and training on the web system at facility, sub-district and district levels, and ensure continuity of its utilisation by staff at healthcare facilities and PuPs.

Explain and market the relevance of the web system information to stakeholders by demonstrating the system's operation and features.

Ensure the suitability of healthcare facilities and PuPs for implementation of the web system through baseline and continuous Readiness Assessments (RAs) and Internet network speed-tests.

Scale up web system implementation in a phased approach, as set forth in the project plan.

Share system-related targets with facilities and relay monthly performance data through reports and graphs.

Facilitate access to the web system for relevant stakeholders, creating user accounts and granting appropriate user permissions, updating these as required.

Create a platform for facilities to report urgent system issues.

Monitor utilisation of the web system and compliance with formulary requirements.

Ensure the availability, functionality and efficient use of all requisite ICT equipment (hardware and software) at health facilities and PuPs, and support the integration of ICT equipment for the web system with the district's existing ICT infrastructure where applicable.

Job Requirements:

At least three years' experience in health-related information systems. Advanced knowledge of information technology and experience in MS Office, computer hardware and software management (ability to identify and resolve hardware and software problems).

Stakeholder engagement skills.

A Diploma in Health Sciences/Information Systems OR a qualification in Public Health

Advanced computer literacy (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Internet)

Monitoring and evaluation skills and experience.

Knowledge of public health sector policies and procedures for the management of patients with chronic diseases OR a strong background in CCMDD programme implementation will be advantageous.

Ability to assess and identify gaps in ICT infrastructure

Information system implementation and training skills.

Sound knowledge of public health sector policies, the CCMDD programme, the web-based system, and TIER.Net.
