Chief Technology Officer

TIH Foundation for IoT & IoE, IIT Bombay:TIH-IoT has been set up at IIT Bombay under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM ICPS), being implemented by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. TIH-IoT focuses on creating a self-sustaining innovation continuum by fostering interdisciplinary, collaborative, and translational research for technology & amp; product development, building highly knowledgeable human resources, and creating a vibrant start-up ecosystem in the technology vertical of IoT. TIH-IoT offers funding support, technical mentoring, and research services in collaboration with academic, industry experts, and institutions primarily to nurture proofs of-concept from research laboratories for commercialization by increasing their Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs).Responsibilities:1. Technology Strategy and Innovation:• Define and execute the company's technological vision and act as the SME for IoT and AIML for internal as well as external stakeholders .• Stay updated on tech trends, assessing relevance, looking for big problems to be solved with IoT or AI for the nation and recommending innovative solutions for maintaining a competitive edge and spearheading the commercialisaton of products.• Help TIH achieve number 1 position as a solution provider in IoT and AIML in India.2. Team Leadership and Management:• Lead, Inspire and Manage the technology teams for efficient project execution and meeting Organisational Objectives.• Provide guidance, mentorship, and resources for optimal performance.3. Technical Architecture and Infrastructure:• Design scalable, secure, and reliable technical architecture.• Evaluate and adopt technologies to streamline operations.4. Product Development:• Own, Drive and Achieve technology product development objectives aligned with business goals.• Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch.• Have a commercial mindset of translation research.5. Research and Development (R&D):• Lead R&D efforts, experiment with new technologies, foster innovation within the team.6. Strategic Partnerships:• Forge partnerships with tech vendors, startups, and industry leaders for new opportunities.7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:• Collaborate with C-suite executives to align technology solutions with business needs.Minimum Qualifications and Experience:• Master's Degree in Engineering with at least 12 years of experienceOR • Doctorate with at least 8 years of industry experience.Technological Experience:The candidate is expected to have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the IOT//AI product development and commercialization area. Candidates with profiles that satisfy one or more of the following will be preferred:• Extensive experience in leading and/or founding successful technology-driven startups.• Demonstrated success in driving technological innovation and growth within a manufacturing environment• Proven track record of at least 3+ years of continuous leadership in a single company within the technology or manufacturing sector, leading large, distributed teams and contributing to revenue generation and advancing the organization to the next level.• Strong background in working within a startup ecosystem, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities present in such environments.
