Senior Civil Engineer (Dams)

Klohn Crippen Berger seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Vancouver office within the Power and Transportation Group. This position will participate in the design of large dams and associated structures, emphasizing a technical leadership role. Experience on site assignments for hydropower projects (domestically and internationally) is a considered an asset. Duties will include: Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and drafters throughout the design phases from concept to final engineering. Serve as a technical authority within project teams, offering guidance and expertise. Provide regular progress updates to clients and senior management. Conduct site visits to gather pertinent data for design activities. Foster professional communication and collaboration with clients. Complying with company-established quality management systems throughout a project, and suggesting/implementing improvements as appropriate Travel domestically and internationally for project requirements. The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering Registration as a Professional Engineer with EGBC 15+ years of experience in the design of large dams and appurtenant structures Strong technical knowledge and detailed design capabilities in one field of civil engineering Experience performing dam safety reviews and inspections Proven record of project management and client management Business development experience such as writing and leading proposals Have large conventional hydro and pump storage experience (i.e., over MW) Ability to interface with other disciplines and understand the electrical, civil-structural, and mechanical design aspects and drawings of a project Effective verbal and written communications skills in English, with demonstrated competent report writing skills The capability to manage $1 Million+ projects The salary for this position is $120,000 to $190,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
