Director, Research Development & Strategy RHA Job Number: GO-00762716 Number of Vacancies: 1 Profession: Executive Leadership Management: Yes Organization: Saskatchewan Cancer Agency Facility Name: POPULATION HEALTH, QUALITY AND RESEARCH Department: RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT & STRATEGY Employment Type: Permanent Employment Term: Full Time Posting Date: May 24, 2024 Closing Date: June 9, 2024 21:30 Hours of Work: Shift Information: Days37.50 hours per 1 week rotation Rate of Pay: Salary and benefits as per terms and conditions of employment Job DescriptionAs a member of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency(SCA) Senior Leadership team, the Director, Research Development & Strategy is accountable for providing collaborative leadership and expertise in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures, programs and initiatives that support and advance the Agency's mission, values, policies and strategic direction.The Director, Research Development & Strategy partners and collaborates with Executive Leadership, Directors, Managers an d external partners and is accountable to provide strategic, operational and financial oversight of SCA's research program.SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITChampions a SCA research program with a focus on generating and applying research evidence across the cancer continuum.Develops, maintains, and oversees critical research administration infrastructure that supports the responsible conduct of research and ensures the sustainability of the SCA's research programming.Leads the development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of the SCA's strategic plan for research in alignment with organizational goals.Oversees the operations of functional units with targeted expertise for project design and support, pre- and post-award management (including support for grant applications, budget development, and financial administration of research funding), assistance with submitting projects to the research ethics review process, supporting compliance with policies and procedures, managing operational approvals, performing data analysis and literature reviews, and contributing to manuscript writing.Collaborates with stakeholders and partners to leverage resources and enhance cancer research capacity.Oversees the research program to ensure it is operating effectively and efficiently.Develops educational resources and training opportunities to support both professional and personal growth through enhanced expertise and capacity for research among staff and physiciansJob QualificationsRequired QualificationsSee Additional TextAdditional InformationQUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in a health research-related field with experience leading/managing research programs or initiatives in an academic or health research environment, or an equivalent combination of formal qualifications and experience.KEY ATTRIBUTESA recognized research leader with a demonstrated ability to execute a strategic vision for research.Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals.Demonstrated ability to use strategic thinking, considering long-term goals assessing options and implications.Strong understanding of research administrative functions that support ethical conduct of research, financial management of research funds, operationalizing research in a clinical care setting, and managing risk.Demonstrated effective communicator with strong organizational skills.Ability to initiate and lead change and to create innovative solutions for complex and diverse situations.Effective coach and enabler.Results-oriented.Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Metis people.Geographic Location: Saskatoon or ReginaExpected Start Date: July 16, 2024FTE: 1.00Saskatchewan's largest city is a four season destination and has gained a reputation as a great place to both live and visit.
