Who Are We Looking For?

GHD has openings for Intermediate/Senior Building Mechanical Engineers in our Markham office. The position will support a wide variety of projects involving code consulting, system design/evaluation, fire modeling, etc., for a diverse group of clients in Canada. We're looking for individuals who are curious, stimulated by fresh thinking, and have a desire to shape communities in positive ways.

Responsibilities Include:

Provide design, calculations, and technical support for plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems in retrofit or new projects.

Complete engineering studies with accompanying reports.

Convert markups into CAD or Revit MEP drawings.

Manage communications with clients and consultants.

Review shop drawings and reply to requests for information from contractors.

Prepare change notices, change orders, and payment certificates during construction.

Conduct site surveys and complete routine site reviews.

Assist in the preparation of proposals and fees.

Requirements:

Professional Engineer licensed in Ontario.

8-10 years of experience in plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and BAS system design.

Strong knowledge of HVAC control systems and applicable codes and standards.

Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, MS Office, and Excel.

Self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to work independently and in a team environment.

Adaptability to fluctuating workloads and timelines.

Proficiency in French is advantageous.
